Our trip to Orlando last fall and more pictures of the resort.
These are the pictures I was trying to put on here yesterday, but things were just not working out for me. Billy, last night, finally got the one picture to post. If you click on the picture, you can see all of the ones we took while we were in Orlando. We did love the resort and of course, ended up buying a time share there. Something we said we would NEVER do. But it does seem more practical now since we can travel anywhere. We do plan to go there again in the fall for the kids break. We were going to go on a Disney cruise but cancelled that. Billy was very bummed about that, but I think we will have just as much fun in Orlando for that week. I know I am looking forward to it. Everytime I look at the pictures of the pools, I wanna go back. Fall is an excellent time to go there too. It's not too hot, and it's not too cold. It's just right. I do highly recommend the Disney cruise though. But for the time being, it will save us over $3000. So, it just seemed more practical for now. And hey, maybe Hunter will actually get his braces with the tax refund instead of us spending it all on the cruise. LOL. I guess it does take sacrifice to be a good parent. :) I hope to sometime in the next year or two, use the time share in another country though. That was the allure for me anyway. But the Orange Lake Resort is awesome, adn we can't wait to go back. The lucky thing for us too is that we can just fly down for the day if we want and spend it there, then come home that night. We haven't done that yet, but I look for us to do it in the spring sometime.

The pool looks awesome, I'm sure the kids will love that slide! How was the pool temp that time of year?
It was perfect. That is where we will be in September instead of the cruise. Y'all should go with us. We could get a 3 bedroom so your place to stay would be free. And it has a full kitchen so most of the meals will be eaten there, thus saving more money. We do plan to go to Sea World and Aquatica. It's only $90 for both pp. So our plan is to spend most of our time in the pools at the resort. Our budget is more like $1500 as opposed to $5000. The pools are GREAT though. I know my kids would LOVE it if you all joined us. Oh, we plan on driving down too so we'll have a car and not have to rent one for a week. Depending on gas prices then, that should be cheaper. It's not a bad drive though. We used to make it all the time when we'd go visit Billy's parents.
Not a bad idea... :) Why are you driving instead of flying?
Well, depending on the price of gas at the time, it will probably be cheaper to drive down. So, as of now, that is the plan. However, if gas prices shoot back up to over $3 a gallon, it may cost no more just to rent a car. I guess it just really depends on that one main factor when the time comes. The reason we drove to Arkansas for Thanksgiving was because it was a good bit cheaper due to the cost of gas. It would have cost us close to $200 more to rent and still pay for gas to and from the airport and around town as opposed to just driving there in our own vehicle. I realize that to some people, the $200 extra dollars would have been worth it just to not have to drive the 10 hours, but when you are on a strict budget, it counts.
Man, I need a time share! lol!! We never go on family vacations - we hit the Grand Canyon and kind of combined a little vacay into our move from Texas to WA, but that about covers it. I guess that paying for three more mouths to feed all year is taking up our vacation budget, huh??? lol!
Yeah, no doubt. lol. I'm sure that is part of the reason Billy wanted to stop at 3. I'd rather have more kids though. You can always find fun things to do with kids even if it isn't vacationing all over. A full house is a much better thing. But, since I can't have that, I guess this will have to do. lol.
