Christmas pictures and then some

I decided to go ahead and put some Christmas pictures on here before it becomes too long after the fact. There are more than just Christmas pictures, such as Billy's birthday that is just before Christmas, and the kids Christmas parties at school, the girls and me being silly, and so on. So there ya go. :) Oh, and most of the pictures have captions so click on it to get the captions to show up if you want, or you can click on the picasa sign (rainbow circle) on the bottom right corner of the picture box to go to my picasa web album page to look at them there in a larger format.

That's a lot of pics! I need to start taking more again, for some reason I've taken practically none for months!

Yeah, you need to get on the ball. I usually do better for Christmas. I don't know how I managed to slack so much this year. I didn't take any of the kids stash after they got everything opened and I didn't take any of us at dinner either. I need to do better too as far as that goes. And like for New Years, I didn't take any. I had my camera with me, so no excuses there.

Was I hallucinating? I thought there was a new post up... :)

Actually though, you weren't hallucinating. I had put the post up of Japan, but then I decided to continue working on it. So, I guess it disappears when I work on it some more. You must have caught me during that time. lol. Hallucinating? you're funny.

My internet is acting goofy, so I'm leaving some photo comments here:
*We also love the Target Dollar Spot, so awesome for stocking stuffers!! :)
*Jarvis loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books too. lol!
*Darby has already had her makeup/nail polish/hair glitter she got for Christmas removed from her possession!!! haha! (it's now kept in my bathroom and she has to ask to use it). How's yours making out with all her makeup??
*Good heavens! I'm pretty sure your Christmas budget is about 80 times the size of ours. LOL!!!
*I like the self-portraits. :)
*YUM - country fried steak! I need to find a gluten-free recipe for that. :)
*Kristin cracks me up with her poses. Reminds me of ME at that age - haha!!

Karen is doing great with her make-up. She's the one that I don't have to worry so much about. Kristen is doing ok so far. I don't go into her room that often though, so who knows what she's hiding from me. I do know that I need to go scrub black eye liner out of the tan carpet in her room. Yeah, she's a messy one. I'll have to post some pictures of what her room can look like on a bad day when she thinks I'm not gonna check it. And I do check it. lol. And her bathroom, OMG!!! So, buying her all of that make-up was a huge risk.

And as far as the budget goes, Billy won $400 on the cruise, so I used that for Christmas. Also, I went shopping after Christmas last year and got a bunch of stuff on sale, so I saved it and gave it to them for Christmas. I usually spend $500 each on them, but since we do sooo much for them all throughout the year now, we have tapered the Christmas giving down. But, I also always start all of my shopping in the spring so I can afford to get them a lot. But, not so much anymore. With all of the travel and stuff, and expensive birthday parties, I figure they get way enough.

lol, yeah, your budget is definitely larger than mine. :) I spent about 70-ish per kid this year. ;)

We spend a little more on birthdays though - well, if we happen to have it that year. lol. This year has been a bigger birthday year for the kiddos. Jarvis is getting a PSP in February. But... they EITHER get a big gift OR a party and a small gift. Jarvis is choosing big gift - Justice had a big airsoft war party, so he didn't get as big a gift.

Jacob? we won't spend as much on his birthday this week, because hello - he is three - he has no idea. :D

Well, I'm trying to work on the smaller budget thing. Lord knows we need to decrease our debt. I ususally spend aroung $2000 or so at Christmas time, mostly on the kids, but not anymore. I've got to taper off. So I did improve a lot this year.

Hunter wanted a psp so badly, but he had lost his nintendo ds and I told him if he can't keep up with that, then I certainly wasn't going to spend the money on a psp. He found it though, but now he wants a cell phone like mine for his bday in Feb. So we are thinking about it. I just don't want spoiled brats who expect everything they want to just appear. Ya know? I always go all out for their birthdays, probably because I never had a birthday party as a kid. Some years it's more extensive than others, depending on the money situation at that time. But they always have a party. I suppose as they get older though, the party will be less important than the gift they really, really want. Like the psp or cell phone. I'm ready for the break though. I'm kinda tired of doing the ponies, chuck e cheese, moonwalks with sleepovers.... That list just goes on and on. lol.

Yikes girl! Those are some crazy parties. I've never spent more than 200 bucks, including gifts, on a kids' birthday.

We don't go into debt for birthdays/Christmas either though (we have in the past, but no longer)... if we can't afford it with cash, we don't do it. It's much more peaceful (for the parents) that way. :)

Yeah, my kids were telling me the neighbors were like "we're getting a wii and this and that" and my kids were like "how do you know you are getting that?" and the kids were like "Uh, we put it on our list?" like "DUH"... but those kids don't appreciate anything - they just expect it, ya know? Being poor has built character in my kids - ha! And actually, well, we have been 'poor' in the past, but I don't think we are now... we just aren't rolling in the dough and throwing wii's at them. :)
