Hmmm, what else have I been up to this past month?

I did get my downstairs bathroom and hallway painted a few weeks ago. I'm lovin' the bathroom, cuz it's a cool color, but the hallway wasn't quite the green I was going for. It's just hard to pick out the exact color you want from a tiny 1" square color swatch. Maybe it's just me, but I have run into that problem on more than one occasion. Of course, by the time I finish painting and it dries, I just wait and let it grow on me. I don't much care for painting, so I hate the thought of having to go back and try to get it more the color I really wanted. I just end up settling. Oh well, what do ya do?

So here's my hallway downstairs before:I should have taken the pictures before I took down all of the pictures and switch plate off, but I didn't. It was just really dingy, cuz the kids can't keep their darn hands off the walls. I thought if I went darker, it wouldn't get so icky looking so fast. Besides, I've had it this color for over 7 years. I am really ready for different!!!

Now here is the after:I like it now that it's been a few weeks. It is hard to take a good picture of such a small area though. I took these with my phone so they don't look the greatest. But you get the gist.

Now on to my downstairs bathroom. It was light purple in the before picture. This is because, when I painted it 7 years ago, Kristen was the only kid downstairs and her room was the same color. I was matching the two rooms for her. I have moved the kids all over the place since then and painted their rooms several times each, but I never got around to the bathroom. I didn't have much money to work with this time, so I was stuck using the same wall decor. It still looks good in there though, I think. I don't know, I like it much better now than before, but maybe that is just because it is different than it was. I think I'd like anything better. I like change. I get quite bored with the same ole same ole.

So here ya go, bathroom before:
Ok, so I'm a dummy. Apparently I didn't take any before pictures. This is the only one I have that somewhat shows the before color. Again, it was a very light color and looked rather dingy. This is the kids bathroom, and they seem to have huge difficulty keeping anything clean. I actually took this picture to show Terra my "I've had it way too long" picture. It's Home Interior and I've had it for over 16 years. That was back when I spent a ton of money on all of that stuff. Anyway, it's all I've got for ya as far as the before goes.

Now on to the after:I had to use Karen's towels that a friend of mine embroidered her for Christmas. They don't go with her bathroom at all, so I just put them in the downstairs bath. And the wash cloth is placed like that for a reason.... I had to use all 3 ya know. She wouldn't have it any other way. :) They all have her name on them. I did buy matching towels to go in there too though. Those will probably show up in the pics of the downstairs, whenever I get around to it. :)

I took these ones with my phone too. So, they don't look so great. I'm sure when I get around to doing the whole downstairs pics like I did of the upstairs, I'll have much better quality. Well, that is if my camera likes me that day. It seems to give me problem too. Maybe it's not the camera that's so much the problem as the user. lol. Oh well. But ya see, I may not have posted in the last month, but I did take pictures.

Snow fun for the kids

Well, we did finally get snow this season. I was hoping we would get a little at least. The kids love snow. That's what is nice about the south. You get just a little of it every now and then to keep ya happy, but you don't have to be smothered in it for months on end. I personally don't mind lots of snow for long periods of time, but I wouldn't have to deal with it much since I don't have a job. lol. Non the less, it was nice for the kids to get a little. It was still snowing quite steadily when these pictures were taken, so we did get more than is shown here. This was on Sunday, March 1st. The kids were out of school the next day, so they got to play in it a lot more.

I let Hunter play a little, but since he was getting over pneumonia, I didn't think it was a good idea for him to be out there long. :) It probably wasn't the best idea for me to let him go out at all, but he wouldn't have gotten another chance to play in the snow for who knows how long. It didn't seem to affect him negatively at all, thankfully. I would have felt so bad if it had.

My house gettin' some snow coverage. :)

This picture is of the Kristen getting ready to build a mini snowman. :) She was way under dressed, cuz she's a nut! She was only out there for maybe 10 minutes though. She just couldn't stand that there was snow on the back deck that was undisturbed. lol. By the time she was done playing out there, the deck was just about cleared of snow. :) And here is her cute little snowman. It's so little. :) And it can't see! Poor little thing. :)

Karen, of course, had to join her, but at least she dressed more appropriately. Not quite sure what's she's doing here though. I guess she just wanted to hold a snowball on her head. :)

She did make me a heart though. How sweet. :)

And, of course, she had to build a little snowman too. :)

Good job, Karen. She is just such a sweet little cutie. There's just something about the baby of the family. :) I hate that she has to grow up. :(

Yummy, snow! And here are my three knuckle heads. The driveway looks quite slick. I'm just glad they didn't bust it while they were running around.

Of course, they had to clear off their daddy's car. :) His poor car has to sit outside in the snow, while my car and van get the warm comfort of the garage. Awe, poor little car. :) (It's his choice though, to leave his car outside. I just don't want to come across as the mean one who won't let him keep his car in the garage. :) )

Oh wow, look, they all have a lump of snow. lol. Aren't they special? :)

Karen with her snowball. I wonder who got pelted with it. :)

I'm just so glad they got some snow. Kristen and Hunter were NOT happy about missing school, which is good I guess, but so not normal. Karen was perfectly happy to miss though. :)

Karen's 3rd grade perfomance

Karen had her 3rd grade performance on February 26th. It was so cute, and all of the kids did such a good job. I only had my camera so I took the video on that. Besides, my camcorder is messed up because Billy did something to the thing you plug the cord into to put it on the computer. So anyway, I only took video of the singing and of Karen standing up front to say their school creed. Otherwise, I think my arm would have fallen off. I had to hold the camera out and to the side to get over people's heads. You can actually tell in the last video I took because it is shaky. Oh well, what do ya do?

This picture is kind of obvious as to what it is. The theme was the '70's. Karen is on the bottom row 2nd from the left next to the girl with the white sunglasses on her head. Such a cutie. :)
I tried to make my little girl look like a hippie. :) The really didn't emphasize in any way that she was supposed to dress up. They just said to wear something colorful. I'm glad I chose the shirt I did, because it looked better than the original tye-dye shirt she was gonna wear considering the fact that most of the kids really did dress up for the night's theme.
These next few videos are of the songs they preformed. They really did do a good job. :)

And after the performance, we went to the library to check out the book fair and this display was set up. Had to take her picture here too, of course. :)

Here come the posts

Terra, Kevin Michael and the baby (Trent) came for a visit February 15th thru 18th. We didn't do a whole lot other than eating out and shopping, which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way. :) It was a good visit though. She hadn't been here in a couple of years, so I am glad she was able to come. I was originally going to go to MS for the week since the kids were out of school for mid- winter break, but she said she'd rather come here. (She just needed a break from her chaotic life I do believe. lol) So that's what she did.

We went to a Japanese steak house for dinner one night (just the adults), and I got a glass of plum wine. I had had a sip of an old friend of mine's on Valentine's day and wanted to get one on this visit. So, I was just enjoying my wine as I sipped on it, until I offered Terra a taste. She tasted it, then turned to me and said, "It tastes like cough medicine". Well man, that just ruined it for me. Every time I took a drink of it, all I could taste was freakin' cough medicine, so I just stopped drinking it. She totally took the enjoyment away from me. And I wasted the darn stuff and my money. So ya know, if you ever try someone's food or drink, think before you comment. Now I'll never be able to drink it again without thinking it tastes like cough medicine. Thank you 'again' Terra!

Plus, we sat by a large family, cuz you know how they do that at the Japanese steak house places. Those people were so darn loud and irritating. And to top it off, they had a whiny butt 2 year old that carried on the entire time we were there. It's funny how when you go out without your own kids, you REALLY don't want to be bothered by other people's kids, AT ALL. But seriously, this kid cried the whole time we were there. Also, there was this very young Sheriff's deputy, who was the whiny kid's dad. I just really didn't like the way he looked. He looked like one of those super cocky cops on a power trip. And I think we all know the type. I don't know.... It's just that when you go out and spend $100 on dinner, you don't want to deal with other people's crap. That's all I'm sayin'.

So now on to the pics. The next few are of Terra and me. Kevin Michael is in the first one as well. And let me just say, that sister of mine has a freakin' long tongue. LOL. When we were kids, she could touch her nose with it. She is such a nut! :) Anyway, we were in the computer room just looking at stuff on the computer and decided to be silly with the camera. We don't have many pics of us together, and I have very few ones of her being serious. She is a cut up in front of the camera. Always has been. I didn't know she was trying to lick me. I was trying to make a 'pretty' picture, well as much so as I can, while she's got the tongue all out. So silly!
Now this is a good one. NOT! She looks a bit drunk, I must say. lol
And it really amazes me that people still tell us we look alike. I totally don't see it. We look nothing alike. Right?

Now Kevin Michael is the silly one.
This is my mom, Beverly, with Terra's baby, Trent.
My mom with Terra, Kevin Michael and Trent.
The 3 girls: Me, my mom and Terra
Trent playing with a potato chip clip. Non-toy items seem to make the most interesting play things to little kids for some reason.
He's such a cutie. :)
My sissy and the baby. :)
Me holding Trent. I don't know why this one turned out so dark. (My camera doesn't like me.)
So there ya have it for those who have actually been waiting on me to get something of mild interest on here. Sorry I took so stinkin' long. I'll try to do better but make no promises. lol. I'm really, really bad at procrastination. I wanna get better at that, but I just don't know how that's gonna turn out to be honest with ya. :)

Tomorrow, I promise!!!

Ok, so I'm still slacking. lol. The kids were home all day Monday due to the snow, and today I had lunch and bookfair with Karen, then Billy got off jury duty early so we've been spending the day together. I just jumped on here for a quick second. Tomorrow, I promise. :) I have tons of stuff to post.
